Human Library Belarus was founded in 2014. For a long time, it existed as a Human Library Initiative. It finally grew to an institutionalized organization with the developed structure and determined lines of action on 12 July 2017.

Officially Human Library Belarus is the Center for Development of effective communication. We work in 2 directions. Firstly, through non-formal education (Human Library, frank conversation, social games, and other formats) we talk about stereotypes, their essence and appearance, stigma, discrimination and human rights.

Secondly, in the area “Inclusion” we work to ensure that people belonging to very different social groups can feel comfortable in society and do some research, educational courses in this field.

Our main team is located in Minsk, but we also have 5 regional teams in different cities in our country. They work independently and provide non-formal education in the form of Human Library meetings for local communities.
